Do we need a printer?
No. Most people read on their phones. Printing is an option, not a requirement.
Is anything shipped to us?
No. Nothing ships, ever. Two links arrive by email in about 30 seconds. Nothing to download, nothing to unzip, nothing to install.
How do we both get our half?
The email has two links. One is yours, the other you forward to whoever is playing with you. It opens in their browser, on any phone, and it never shows them your half.
Can one person play it alone?
You can, but you'd be reading both files, and half of what makes it work is not knowing what the other person is holding.
How long does it take?
About two and a half hours. Some pairs take longer and enjoy it more, and you can stop halfway and pick it up the next evening exactly where you left it.
What if we get stuck?
Every step is provable with a document you already have, and there are three levels of hint if you want one. If a point ever feels unknowable, it isn't. Go back to the times.
Is it scary? Is there gore?
No. It's paperwork. The worst thing in the case is a bank statement.
Do we need to be a couple?
No. It needs two people who will argue about a timeline. Friends, siblings, a parent and a grown-up child: it works the same.
